Hillingdon growth plan
The council has created a growth plan, to shape the economy to benefit residents, businesses and the community. The growth plan is based around three principles:
- Innovate: Growing new sectors.
- Connect: North of Hillingdon with the south and match skills with businesses.
- Thrive: Support town centres, build housing, support healthy lifestyles and public spaces.
The growth plan focuses on four areas of opportunity:
- creative industries and technology
- frontier innovation
- the experience economy
- enabling skills and infrastructure.
This growth is then planned spatially with the following clusters:
- Hayes, Stockley Park and the Old Vinyl Factory as a creative cluster and frontier innovation
- Uxbridge and Brunel as the WestTech Corridor
- Heathrow Economic Activity Zone for modern logistics and supply chains
- Ruislip, Northwood and Harefield as a unique city experience.
