About petitions
Petitions are an important part of local democracy. They give residents a direct way to raise concerns, influence decisions and bring local issues to the council's attention.
You can submit a petition about a neighbourhood issue, a council service or a planning application, a licensing matters or any other issue the council is responsible for. We will ensure your views are heard and considered.
For a petition to be accepted, it must:
- be about something the council can take action on
- explain what action you would like the council to take
- include the name and contact details of the lead petitioner
- meet the required number of signatures from Hillingdon residents.
Some petitions cannot be accepted, for example where the matter falls outside the council's responsibilities. For full details of the rules, exclusions and how petitions are considered, read the full petition scheme.
