Admission and exit guidance for specialist schools
The Admission and Exit Guidance for Hillingdon Special Schools, Specialist Resource Provisions (SRPs) and Designated Units (DUs) has been developed with schools, families and partners to support a shared understanding of specialist provision across the borough.
The guidance explains the types of provision available, the admissions process and the range of needs these settings support. It aims to promote clear, consistent and needs-led decision-making for children and young people with SEND. It helps inform placement decisions, it does not replace statutory processes. All decisions about placements for children and young people with an EHCP will continue to be based on individual needs and in line with the SEND Code of Practice and the Children and Families Act 2014.
