Digital
- The council invested in an AI powered assistant on the council’s website and call centre to handle resident enquiries faster and offer self-service options, freeing staff to focus on more complex issues.
- A new refreshed website was launched to provide visitors with quicker and easier access to information and services.
- The council has donated nearly 200 laptops and more than 2,000 data SIMs to nominated residents on low incomes without digital access to support digital inclusion.
- The council modernised its parking enforcement by leasing a vehicle with Automatic Number Plate Recognition technology to carry out more checks across a wider area in less time.
Co-locating services and maximising use of assets
- Uxbridge Library reopened at the Civic Centre campus and has since welcomed 3,500 new members and issued/renewed 86,600 books/items. While its former High Street site was sold to Buckingham New University to provide additional higher education provision for residents.
- The council’s new Museum and Archives Service also opened at the Civic Centre, offering visitors the opportunity to view a variety of fascinating historic objects from across the borough – many on public display for the first time.
- 2 new ceremony rooms were created at the Civic Centre, with the Nova Room accommodating up to 20 guests and 80 in the Astra Suite.
- A new care facility, The Burroughs, was purchased to secure local provision to meet the growing demand for residential care and reduce private provider costs.
- The council extended its burial service for all faiths to 7 days a week to reflect the requirements of the borough's diverse communities.
Commissioning specialist operators
- The council completed the handover of its 3 early years centres to the London Early Years Foundation which will ensure continued high quality of early years education and generate regular income for the council.
- The council announced a new partnership with Iford Golf Centre to run Haste Hill and Uxbridge golf courses.
