Take a look at our achievements in building a thriving economy.

  • The council secured £1.1 million UK Shared Prosperity Funding to deliver projects that support residents into work, help local businesses grow and make improvements to the borough’s high streets and town centres. It has supported 169 businesses and 168 residents to learn new skills/get jobs.
  • The Uxbridge Town Centre Vision, which was codesigned with residents and business and sets out plans to revitalise the town centre, was adopted.
  • The council held its second Old Vinyl Factory Festival in September, welcoming more than 1,600 people to the event celebrating Hayes’ musical heritage.
  • Following a successful bid by the council, Hayes became 1of 12 London high streets to receive £50,000 funding as part of the Mayor of London’s new High Street Place Labs initiative.
  • The council joined the West London Economic Prosperity Board to unlock new opportunities for growth, investment and innovation.
  • The council prevented motorbikes from using pay and display bays in Ruislip High Street to alleviate parking pressures and poor driving caused by fast food delivery drivers and help ensure businesses secure passing trade.
  • The council continues to strengthen its partnership with Brunel University London through year-long placements, providing students with salaried, full-time roles as part of their degree programme. Since 2024/25, 6 students have taken part in the scheme.
  • Our adult education service, which was rated ‘good’ by Ofsted, delivered 423 adult learning courses.
