Every year, we hold a Summer Reading Challenge within our libraries. It runs from July to September and encourages all 4 to 11-year-olds to enjoy the benefits of reading for fun during the summer holidays.

We have now filled all available volunteer places and are no longer accepting applications. We are grateful for the fantastic response and enthusiasm shown by local young people.

Who can apply?
This volunteering role is open to 13 to 17-year-olds.
You must live or study in the borough of Hillingdon to be able to volunteer for this role.
We need young people who are reliable, enthusiastic, organised, creative, enjoy working with children, and able to relate to members of the public of all ages and backgrounds.
What you can expect
Volunteers will have the opportunity to gain experience of working in a library, teamwork and engaging with members of the public.
We will be flexible and supportive, and staff will be on hand to help when you are volunteering in our libraries.
