Hillingdon Council values the active involvement of tenants and leaseholders in shaping landlord services.
This strategy is essentially a plan of action, it sets out how we’ll engage with you about decisions relating to building safety. A building safety decision is any decision made about the management of the building, the management of building safety risks or any other decision connected to the council’s landlord responsibilities for fire and building safety. These legal responsibilities are defined in the Building Safety Act 2022 and the formal name for them is ‘Principal Accountable Person duties.’
This draft strategy outlines how the council plans to:
- share information
- support transparency and compliance with Building Safety Act 2022
- involve residents in building safety decisions
- empower residents to influence decisions and hold the council accountable
- keep residents safe in their homes
- provide varied opportunities for residents to participate and express their views.
