About this year's challenge

Between Saturday 4 July and Saturday 12 September, children can join this year's Summer Reading Challenge for free in any Hillingdon Library.

Children wishing to take part will need to be a member of Hillingdon libraries.

Summer Reading Challenge Pip mouseVisit, borrow, collect

  1. Visit any Hillingdon library.
  2. Borrow books at least 4 times during the summer. We recommend aiming to read at least 6 books. 
  3. Collect the reward stickers as you borrow books. There are 4 visits to complete. 

Gifts and visits 

  • Visit 1 - Collector folder, sticker and a special 24-page edition of Storytime magazine, featuring additional Summer Reading Challenge-themed content, plus a selection of stories (only available while stocks last).  
  • Visit 2 - Reward sticker and bookmark  
  • Visit 3 - Reward stickers  
  • Visit 4 - Reward sticker, medal and certificate 

This year’s stickers feature QR codes to special digital rewards and incentives, such as exclusive video clips from illustrators and authors. 

The sticker book has the option for you to customise the challenge. Why not tell us about a book you enjoyed, draw one of the characters or write a book review, read something new or experience an audiobook or graphic novel to earn your extra sticker?

Complete all 4 visits by the end of Saturday 12 September and your name will be entered into a prize draw.

You could win a fabulous prize of an electronic keyboard and song writing journal – there’s 1 available from each library.
