Our High Five sets out 5 priorities that guide Children’s Social Care in supporting children, young people and families across Hillingdon and working with our partners.
We want children and young people in Hillingdon to be:
- safe and protected
- learning, engaged and thriving
- identified early and supported effectively when they need help
- living in stable, loving homes
- happy and healthy.
Our priorities
- Keeping children safe
We safeguard children from harm, neglect and exploitation and help them feel safe at home, in their communities and in their relationships. Keeping children safe is at the heart of everything we do. - Promoting a best start and a bright future
We help children and young people grow, learn and achieve their potential, supporting them to look forward to positive futures and successful adulthood. - Providing the right support, at the right time, in the right place
We work with partners to ensure children and families can access timely support through joined-up services that respond to changing needs and reduce the need to repeat their story. - Supporting families to stay together
We recognise the strengths within families and communities, working alongside them to build resilience, strengthen relationships and overcome challenges together. - Enabling our skilled and supported workforce
We invest in a healthy, supported and resilient workforce because confident, skilled professionals achieve better outcomes for children and families.
Delivering the High Five
We will deliver these priorities by:
- building strong, trusting relationships
- placing children at the centre of every decision
- working closely with families and partners
- supporting and developing our workforce
- using evidence, data and learning to improve practice.
