What can I put in my household rubbish?
You can put the following items into your household rubbish:
- ceramics, such as broken plates or mugs
- cigarette buds
- hard plastics, such as plant pots
- nappies
- pet waste
- polystyrene
- sanitary products
- used tissues and wet wipes.
All rubbish should be stored in large, tied black bags, ready for your collection day.
Items you cannot put into your household rubbish include:
- asbestos
- batteries
- bulky waste items
- business waste
- chemicals
- clinical waste, including needles
- deceased animals
- electrical items
- fluorescent tubes and lightbulbs
- food waste
- garden waste
- Gas cannisters
- recyclable items
- textiles.
Recycle unwanted household items wherever you can.
