Filming in the borough
If you're planning to film in any council-owned land or property (including buildings, streets, parks, highways, or open spaces), you must get permission from the council. This applies to:
- TV and film production companies
- professional and amateur photographers or videographers
- clubs and organisations
- students from schools, colleges, or universities.
In most cases, a licence will also be required.
Each enquiry is considered on a case-by-case basis and fees apply. If agreed, public liability insurance, risk assessments and/or method statements will be required.
Please note: Drone filming/photography is only permitted for emergency purposes, such as structural surveys of buildings, and then only in accordance with specific criteria.
