We offer a range of free Cycle Skills training for families in Hillingdon - from children learning to balance and those learning to ride for the first time, to adults (over-16s) wanting to improve their cycle skills or gain confidence on the road.
Sessions available
- Learn to Balance (for 4 to 6-year-olds) - master the art of balancing on specially-designed bikes without pedals. This fun, confidence-building session helps children develop independent balance - an essential first step to riding a bike
- Learn to Ride (for 6 to 10-year-olds) - learn to ride using pedal bikes, and get ready for the next stage - ‘Bikeability’ training (offered to year 6 pupils across the borough)
- Learn to Ride/Cycle training (for adults/over-16s) - whether you’re riding for the first time or brushing up after a break, these sessions build your skills and confidence to enjoy cycling safely.
Please note:
- All children need to be accompanied by an adult on their training sessions.
- You can attend individually or as a family.
- Sessions take place outdoors, so are weather dependant. Please check this web page for any updates before attending.
- Bringing your own helmets, bikes and balance bikes, is advised, but we will also have a limited amount available to use, free of charge.
