Ceremonies at The Great Barn, Ruislip

Set in the beautiful grounds of Manor Farm, The Great Barn offers a stunning and unique venue for you and your guests to mark your special day in style.

The Great Barn is a unique and historic venue, and we're committed to preserving its charm and historic structure. While this means there are some limitations on catering equipment, decorations and entertainment, we're here to help you plan your perfect day.

Catering facilities

  • Although the Great Barn doesn't have a kitchen, your caterers will have full access to the Steward's Room (approximately 4 metres by 4 metres), equipped with 2 sinks and 13-amp sockets for fridges and freezers. 
  • Additional kitchen facilities are available in The Stables and The Winston Churchill Theatre and Hall, which can be hired separately.

Bar and alcohol

  • You can set up a bar in any bay of the Great Barn.
  • We'll provide a copy of our premises licence on the day, which must be displayed throughout your event.
  • Alcohol service must be authorised under Hillingdon Council's licence, and anyone serving must sign a temporary authorisation form.
  • Licensed hours are Fridays and Saturdays from midday to 10.30pm and Sundays from 10am to 4.30pm

Entertainment

  • All entertainment must be positioned at the south end of the barn.
  • Music is permitted from 10.30am to 10.30pm.

Decorations and lighting

  • The Great Barn features adjustable built-in lighting, and you're welcome to add decorative lighting to enhance the atmosphere
  • Recommended options: LED candles and tea lights (approximately 5 metres of lights wraps around beams; 3.5 metres of cable reaches floor sockets) and battery-powered fairy lights

Planning your day

  • Ceremony sessions are available daily, Monday to Sunday - 9am to 1pm (morning) and 2pm to 6pm (afternoon).
  • To respect our neighbours, all events must finish by 11pm. A 1-hour extension (until midnight) may be available for clear-up only, with an additional charge.

Bookings and viewings

We're delighted you're considering the Great Barn for your special day.

To arrange a viewing, email us at artsvenues@hillingdon.gov.uk — we'd love to show you around.

You can provisionally reserve your ceremony date before giving notice to marry, giving you peace of mind as you plan.

We take bookings on an April to March cycle, so for example, summer 2027 dates became available from April 2026.

If your preferred date is available, we'll hold it for you for up to 10 working days while you finalise your plans. To secure the date, a booking deposit will be required.

Please note: A £500 refundable deposit is required to confirm your booking. This is separate from the hire fee and may be retained if there is any overrun, damage, or extra cleaning needed.

Please consider the layout for your guests carefully. If the maximum capacity has been reached, guests could be refused entry for safety reasons.

Cancellations and changes

We understand plans can change.

Please note:

  • Once confirmed, dates cannot be changed without a new security deposit.
  • If you cancel within 3 months of your hire date, 50% of the hire cost will be charged.
  • If you cancel within 6 weeks, the full hire cost will apply.
