Important
- Please ensure any food appliances are emptied of all food, which has the potential to cause odour emissions and attract pests/vermin. Any units received that contain food or contamination may be rejected and returned to the origin site.
- To reduce paint spillages on site, please harden any paint that you want to dispose of. You can do this by adding a paint hardener, sawdust sand or soil to the tin. Leave the lid off until the paint becomes solid and dry, before bringing it to Harefield Civic Amenity Site.
Gas cylinders
We do not accept gas cylinders at this site. This includes fire extinguishers, beer barrels and oxygen tanks.
If gas canisters are thrown into the general rubbish, there is a high risk of causing a fire.
Calor gas cylinders can be taken back to a Calor gas supplier; some petrol stations may also accept them. For other gas canisters, we advise residents to contact Grundons.
We do accept the helium canisters, but these must be handed to a member of staff.
