Waste we collect
Businesses that sign up for our service can recycle a wide range of mixed materials and dispose of various general waste items.
Food waste
- Dairy produce, including eggs, eggshells and cheese, small amounts of butter or lard
- Paper kitchen towels
- Bread, cakes and pastries
- Fruit, vegetable and peelings
- Cereals, rice, pasta and pulses
- Tea bags, tea leaves and coffee grounds
- Food scrapings from plates and dishes
- Raw and cooked fish and meat, including skin and bones
If you want to recycle cooking oil, there is a bin at Harefield Civic Amenity Site.
Dry mixed recycling
- Cardboard
- Glass bottles and jars
- Paper
- Plastic bottles, tubs and trays
- Steel and aluminium tins and cans
- Tetra Pak cartons
- Tin foil
Important: Items must be clean, dry and placed into the recycling bags we provide.
General waste
- Hard plastics
- Coffee cups
- Polystyrene
- Soiled packaging
- Sanitary products
Missed collection
If your business waste hasn't been collected on your collection day and you have followed instructions for collection, please complete our online form.

One-off collections
Email us at tradewaste@hillingdon.gov.uk to find out if we can help your business with one-off collections (from events to furniture clearances) and to receive a free no-obligation quote.
Other business waste and recycling
We do not currently offer a separate collection for business food waste, garden waste or textiles. If your business produces this type of waste, please take it to a waste and recycling centre, where it can be recycled, or place it into your general waste bins or rubbish sacks.
Important: The following materials cannot be placed into your waste or recycling bins:
- hazardous waste
- construction / industrial waste
- clinical waste.
