Reading Well books on prescription

Research shows that self-help reading can support adults with common mental health conditions, such as anxiety, depression, phobias and some eating disorders.

Reading Well is a collection of books that are based on cognitive behavioural therapy and have been recommended by health professionals.

They provide useful information and personal stories to help you understand your condition, step-by-step strategies and techniques to make positive changes. They also offer advice for relatives and carer.

They cover reading well for:

  • teenagers
  • mental health.

These books can be recommended by GPs and other health professionals. They can also be borrowed from some of our libraries - please check with your local branch.
