Large rear extensions
What’s changed?
The Article 4 Direction removes permitted development rights for residential extensions that extend beyond the rear wall of the original dwelling by more than 4 metres.
The Article 4(1) Direction removes permitted development rights under Class A of Part 1 of Schedule 2 to the Town and Country Planning (General Permitted Development) Order 1995, where:
The enlargement, improvement or other alteration of a dwellinghouse where the enlarged part would have a single storey and would:
(i) Extend beyond the rear wall of the original dwellinghouse by more than 4 metres.
The Article 4 Direction applies to all of the London Borough of Hillingdon.
