Half term fun at the bunker

Treat the kids to fun day out in an unforgettable location with storytelling, crafting and other activities on offer from Hillingdon Council at the Battle of Britain Bunker during half-term

Free drop-in Lego play sessions will be open to children under 16 at the Uxbridge venue, from Thursday 31 October until Saturday 2 November, 11am until 3pm.

Book your preferred date ahead of time, then pop along and join in the fun. There will also be activities laid on for under-fives, including fun trails and a 'crafty mess hall' for the creative little ones.

Visit on Friday 1 November and join the family tour of the Second World War bunker hidden 60-feet below the ground, at 11am. Under-16s go free.

The ever-popular 'Pipsqueaks!' toddler story-telling sessions return on Friday 1 November and Saturday 2 November at 10.30am. Children aged 18 months to 3-years-old can join Pilot Tally-Ho and friends as they go on adventures, make new friends and sing-along to some favourite nursery rhymes. Sessions cost £2.50 and can be booked in advance at discover.hillingdon.gov.uk.

Cllr Eddie Lavery, Hillingdon Council's Cabinet Member for Residents' Services, said: "There's always something fun going on at the bunker, so pop down during half-term and see what this fantastic venue has to offer.

"It's a fascinating place for families to visit with a comprehensive programme of events that runs all year and caters for everyone, not just those with an interest in history."
