12 new homes purchased at Carpenters Court in Uxbridge

Hillingdon Council has purchased 12 new properties at Carpenters Court, Uxbridge, as part of its commitment to create more homes for residents.

On Monday 13 January, the Leader of Hillingdon Council, Cllr Ian Edwards, and Cllr Steve Tuckwell, Cabinet Member for Planning, Housing and Growth visited the site to mark its handover from local residential property developer, Kearns Development Ltd.

The site was bought with the support of £1.2 million funding from the Greater London Authority, and takes the number of new council homes the local authority has acquired in 2024/25 to 185.

The one, two and three-bedroom flats are furnished with white goods and fitted with electric panel heating which can be controlled from a mobile device. The site is also equipped for the future with the addition of solar panels which will help reduce energy costs for residents.

Cllr Tuckwell, said: "Buying new, high quality council homes is a key part of our commitment to increasing supply by 300 properties this year.

"These flats in Uxbridge will be allocated to residents with the highest priority on our housing register. However, demand for homes in the borough remains very high and for many residents the best chance of finding a secure home is through the private rented sector.

"If you are worried about your housing situation, or are at risk of homelessness, it's vital to act immediately, don't wait until you are homeless to seek support."
