Heathrow West's proposal for the Heathrow expansion

Heathrow West's proposal, led by The Arora Group, includes: 

• creation of ‘Heathrow West’ with a 2.4 kilometre runway further to the east of the Heathrow Airport Limited scheme (laimed to be operational by 2035)

• an option to extend the runway to 3.5 kilometres over the M25 after 2040, should this still be considered necessary

• a new Terminal 6, located to the west of Terminal 5 and designed to handle up to 40 million passengers each year

• expanded airfield infrastructure and a new transport hub connecting to rail and bus services

• upgraded roads and facilities

• a construction approach that avoids building over the M25.
