Social isolation and loneliness

This can be very detrimental to both our physical and mental health, so it is important to take action to improve our wellbeing. We offer a range of services and opportunities designed to support community engagement and improve quality of life:

  • Library-based groups and activities
Local libraries host a variety of events and social groups that encourage learning, interaction, and community participation.
  • Adult learning courses
Residents can enrol in educational programmes that promote personal development and provide opportunities to meet others with shared interests.
  • Volunteering opportunities
Volunteering at Hillingdon's heritage sites allows individuals to contribute to the community while building meaningful connections.
  • Warm Welcome Centres
These centres offer a safe, inclusive space where residents can enjoy refreshments, engage in conversation, and access support services.
  • Dementia-friendly activities
A range of tailored activities are available to support individuals living with dementia and their carers, fostering inclusion and wellbeing.
