Hillingdon Community Awards 2026 winners
21 local heroes were announced winners of the 2026 Hillingdon Community Awards.

Helping Communities Award
Gold
- Jackie Hinchcliffe: For her remarkable dedication to Scouting in Hillingdon during the past thirty years, consistently inspiring and guiding young people to achieve their best.
Silver
- Gerard O’Connell: For his outstanding commitment to litter picking and for tirelessly improving the local environment, ensuring it remains a pleasant and welcoming place for everyone to enjoy.
- Jack Edwards: For his extensive volunteering, dedicating more 30 hours each week to coaching disability football and supporting various local sports and community organisations.
- Jacqui Burke: For inspiring athletes of all abilities to achieve their personal best as Chair of Hillingdon Triathletes and playing a pivotal role in its continued excellence and growth.
Bronze
- Alicia Horne: For her unwavering commitment to supporting local charities, including Hillingdon Vision and empowering others with disabilities through her kindness, courage, and dedication.
- Elaine Haynes: For dedicating more than 40 years to making her community safer and enhancing local parks through her leadership in the South Ruislip Residents’ Association.
- John and Patricia Swindells: For their volunteering work at Harefield Community Centre, where they have dedicated many years organising a popular weekly tea dance.
- Karen Brown: For her exceptional support during the 2024 Ruislip Gardens flooding, and commitment to 4th Ruislip Scouting Group, helping young people develop confidence and life skills.
- Nic Wilsher: For his tireless commitment to keeping the borough’s streets, rivers, and neighbourhoods litter-free.
- Sue Richards: For being a tireless force for good in the Pinkwell community, running the local Pensioners Club, acting as Ward Panel Chair, and for her work with the Safer Neighbourhood Team.
Helping Vulnerable People Award
Gold
- Linda Roberts: For more than 25 years, Linda has supported hundreds of individuals facing mental health challenges through her work with Hillingdon Mind.
Silver
- Corrie Irwin; For more than 25 years, Corrie has been at the heart of ORCHYD, a local charity providing residential holidays for physically disabled children.
Bronze
- Brian and Pam Hughes: For leading the Foodbank team at Crown Church’s office in Cowley, ensuring vulnerable people receive food and compassionate support every week.
- Eddie McGinty: For inspiring young people to choose a better path, sharing his story to prove that positive change is always possible.
- Sue Milledge: For her outstanding dedication to supporting vulnerable residents, improving the local environment, and enhancing community safety in South Ruislip.
Promoting Health and Wellbeing Award
Gold
- Rob Bevis: For being a driving force behind grassroots football for more than 30 years through his work at Sandgate Youth Football Club, Hayes.
Silver
- Ann Sargent: For dedicating the past 18 years to supporting people with hearing loss through her charity, EAR4U, providing practical help, reassurance, and guidance to those living with hearing impairments.
- Hayes & Harlington Road Runners: For more than two decades, this popular running group has played a significant role in enhancing the health and wellbeing of residents through its Couch to 5K programmes.
Bronze
- Kelli McBride: For her unwavering commitment to uplifting people across the borough through her volunteer work with Hillingdon Mind.
- Martin Wilson: For his volunteering work as Vice Chair of Hillingdon Triathletes, tirelessly ensuring the club runs smoothly and spearheading numerous initiatives to promote health and wellbeing.
Bravery Award
Gold
- Tracie Tunstall: For showing remarkable courage and presence of mind in order to save another person’s life.
2026 Community Award winners
