What standards should residents expect from housing staff?

The council is inviting tenants and leaseholders to comment on 2 draft documents that set out the standards, knowledge, skills and behaviours expected of housing staff.

The Regulator of Social Housing requires housing providers to ensure that staff have the right skills, knowledge, experience and behaviours to deliver safe, effective and resident-focused services. To support this, the Council has developed:

  • Housing competence policy
Setting out the knowledge, skills and behaviours Housing staff should demonstrate in their roles.
  • Housing code of conduct
Setting out the professional standards and behaviours residents should expect from housing staff.

We would like your views before these documents are finalised.
