Good air quality is important for the health and wellbeing of everyone who lives, works and studies in Hillingdon.
To help improve air quality across the borough, we have prepared a draft air quality action plan which sets out the actions we propose to take during the next 5 years.
The plan focuses on 5 key themes that aim to improve air quality across the borough:
- Monitoring and reporting: Improving understanding of local air quality and tracking progress over time
- Improving the urban environment: Considering how planning, development and green infrastructure can support cleaner air
- Cleaner transport: Reducing emissions from transport and promoting more sustainable travel options
- Protecting the vulnerable: Helping to reduce exposure to air pollution for those most affected by poor air quality
- Education, communication and awareness: Improving understanding of air quality issues and encouraging positive behaviour change.
Read the full draft air quality action plan to learn more about the proposals and how they could be delivered.
