Arranging a burial
Planning a burial (also known as an interment) involves several key steps, from choosing a funeral director and meeting legal requirements to making personal arrangements that honour the wishes of the deceased.
When can burials take place?
Burials in Hillingdon can take place:
- Mondays to Thursdays, 9am to 3pm
- Fridays, 9am to 2pm
Plots
If the deceased has not already reserved a plot, one must be arranged and paid for.
If no plot has been reserved, and you know of no preference, you must decide where you want the grave to be.

What happens after a burial?
As soon as is practicable, after a burial in the lawn section, the grave space will be either sowed with grass seed or laid with turf.
